Busy Week...

26/5/07... "?" took me to get my shopping early this morning, then we went to pick "ST" up for the weekend.The day was quite doing our usual things that we do Saturdays. After "?" had left "ST" went online and i watched TV in the lounge.

27/5/07... "?" came in around 9:30am for a couple of hours. I got on with preparing dinner for "ST" and myself while "?" and "ST" were chatting in the lounge. "?" left 11:45am.

After dinner "ST" went online and i flicked through the channels on TV. "?" are re turned around 5:15pm, then "A" came to pick "ST" up as he and "L" were taking the two kids to see Pirates of the Caribbean 3 at the cinema. "?" left soon, then i watched TV while i defragmented my computer.

28/5/07...  "?"came by for an hour this morning then left and i got on with a couple of chores. Then after dinner i went online for a while, then watched TV. "?" returned at 5:15pm for an hour then left and i went online.

"SH" phoned me this evening, she asked me to have "Z" for the night as she wanted to go out. She brought her round at 9:15pm. "Z" and i played a writting game, we picked a subject for each other to write about. We both had great fun playing this game.

29/5/07... "Z" slept well last night, where i was restless and irritable. However, i was still up by 7am this morning. "?" came in around 9am  and we took "Z" home about 10am. On the way home we dropped off to pick "ST" up and brought him home with us. He did'nt want any dinner, so later i bought him McDonalds.

Later,i let "L" know "ST" wanted to stay over. This evening "ST" went online and i watched TV in the lounge.

30/5/07... This morning "?" came in early and took me shopping at 8am before "ST" got up. 

I managed to cut 2 of my fingers with the bread knife while cutting the rolls open and had to get "?" to take over. Anyway, we had our breakfast, then "?" and "ST" chatted for a while, then "ST" went to play his X-Box games.

This morning i made an appointment for "?" at the hospital.

the man came to fix new washers in my kitchen and bathroom taps as they were leaking.

Later, "?" went online for a while, he is getting used to the computer now. While he was on there, i got down to trying to suss my vidio recorder out [as it was'nt working  when "Z" was here the other night, she wanted to watch a vidio film she had brought with her, but i could'nt get the recorder to work at the time.]  anyway, i got it going and all is ok now. I thought at the time that i might have to get someone in to repair the recorder, but i got it sussed after all. 

We took "ST" home at 5pm. we came home and "?" left at 6:30pm.

31/5/07... This morning "SH" phoned around 11am and wanted to talk to "?" . This afternoon, i went online looking for short break hols. I found one at ( Y ) and i booked for 3 nights.

I hav'nt done much knitting this week at all, now it will have to wait even longer as i can't use my fingers properly at the moment as they are still sore from when i cut them...silly me!

This afternoon, "A" came by with "J" he stayed for half hour then left "J" with me for an hour and we played 4 in a row, then she came online for a while.

"A" returned  to pick "J" up at 6:15pm, then "?" left soon after at 6:30pm.

Tomorrow, we will be picking "ST" and "J" up for the day, i don't know if we will be going out or anything yet...I hope you all had a great holiday weekend and i hope this weekend is good for you too! Best Wishes to one and all...

Mixed Issues...

 27/5/07... Yesterday, "?" dropped me off at the clinic to have my glucose blood test done. It was really crowded there and it was an hour before i was seen to. I don't normally go in the mornings if i have to go there at all, i usually go around 3pm when its quite. It will be a week before i get the results.

I've been looking in the council house mutual exchanges, but i can't see anything suitable for me in my area. I've got a 3-bed house and i want to down size to a 2-bed corner house. I did'nt think it would be so hard to find a smaller house.

 24/5/07... I weighed myself today and found i had gained the 1 stone that i took off before christmas plus an extra 2lbs...I'm not happy!!! At the moment i'm fighting with my diet and hope to start properly after i have got over this week and i think i will start recording my diet in my health journal, as i found that keeping a diet journal did help me to lose the weight that i did lose before, the problem was christmas got in the way with too many goodies on offer...tut!!!

This afternoon i was showing "?" how to use the computer as he wanted to look a few things up. I said he should get himself a laptop, he did say he is thinking about getting one. He asked me, how do i keep myself from being bored, i said, well...i've got my computer that keeps my mind occupied, watching TV, read, knit plus theres always some kind of chores to be done and they are never ending. "?" has got no hobbies at all. He watches the  horse racing on TV or gambles on the horses and greyhounds and smokes. In my eyes all that is stressfull and depressing.

 25/5/07... Last night, i went online for a short while, then i put my computer on a virus scan because, i had opened an email that looked odd and gibberish, so just incase i scaned my computer, but it was ok! Then i settled to watch a DVD film that i had bought a while back "Night at the Museum".

This morning i made two appoinments for the Drs. One for "?" and one for myself in two weeks time.

My sandles that i ordered last Sunday arrived today, they fit perfectly and i am really pleased with them.

I've found another house exchange website and have been looking through the exchanges, i've only looked at a few, i've still to look through the rest of them yet. To be honest, i would like to move out of my area, but not to far from my family, but where too???

Well i'm going to close down in a while and watch TV. "ST" will be here tomorrow, not sure if he's staying over yet though! Anyway, i hope you all have a great weekend and i hope you all are keeping well too...Best Wishes to you all...

Blood Tests...

Sunday 20/5/07 ..."?" came in for an hour as normal and left, then i prepared dinner for "ST" and myself and once dinner was on the go i came online for a short while, while "ST" was playing his games on his X-Box. I did'nt feel up to doing any chores today.

After we had our dinner "ST" went back in his room on his X-Box and i went back online once i had tidied the dishes away. Anyway, i was looking through some online catologues and found a pair of sandles that i had seen in last weeks W/W magazine, so i signed up with the catologue and ordered the sandles they should be here tomorrow. After i had done this i went off to watch TV untill "A" arrived at 4:15pm to take "ST" home.

I watched TV untill "?" came in around 6:30pm with a DVD film he had borrowed for me. After "?" had left, i then settled down to watch Kingdom and then James Bond Casino Royale. I liked the film, but i would'nt put it in the same class as the previous James Bond's though!

Monday 21/5/07... "?" took me along to the Drs surgery to get my results of my blood test. It seems that my blood sugars are rather high and i've to have a glucose test done as my GP thinks i may have Diabetes. He told me he had already sent the letter off to the neurologist concerning ACM, so i just have to wait for the appointment to arrive.

My daughter "SH" phoned this evening to tell me about a website she had found where you can watch films online QUICKSILVERSCREEN. Its free to register and watch the films online and she told me not to download anything.

When i got home a parcel had arrived that i had sent away for that "ST" wanted. It is an Atlas and globe of the world along with binder to hold the pages that was also included and a compass. There is also a DVD of an Astronaut's view of our planet. It looks interesting, but i will leave that for "ST" to open when he comes here at the weekend. We are both interested in space projects...I would love to visit NASA.

This afternoon i got a few chores done then settled to watch Midsommer Murder late afternoon.

"?" left earlier than normal 5pm then i got a couple of more bits and pieces done before i settled down to watch The Persuaders on ITV4.

Now i'm off to visit a few journals. I do hope your week is going along ok and the rest of the week will be good for you too. Best Wishes to one and all...

This is just a short entry...

Below is a comment i've added  from Kath from my last entry which i wish to comment about and most probably many of you think the same...The school was informed about the incident with "ST" and other children this has been happening too last year, but they could'nt do anything because of it being racial towards the black boy and as each incident is outside school grounds the school can't do anything about it any way. This makes me feel fuming inside...

I should have words with the school if that will make any differance.I worry too about this kind of thing happening to my grandchildren Astra.Lets hope it is a one off and them bullies go away.Take Care God Bless.Kath

Saturday 19/5/07...

This morning "?"took me to the shop to get a few bits that i needed for the weekend. We then went to pick "ST" for the weekend. 

When we got home we all had a chat and "ST" was telling us about an incident that happened on Wednesday on his way home from school with his friend...his friend is Asian.

They were waiting at the bus stop when a white boy and two black boys came up to them. The white boy has a lump of wood in his hand, he pushed "ST" out of the way and attacked the Asian boy with the wood, while this was going on the black boys kept "ST" out of the way but the Asian boy fought back and the offending boys ran off.

Some of you will remember that i wrote about "ST" being bullied by a boy at school last year. It was a black boy who started on him and the Asian boy came to help him and they have since been friends.

For what i can understand, the black boy who is the son of a GP paid the white boy to beat the Asian boy up. It seems that this black boy and the Asian boy have been calling each other horrible names which you can imagine what they are yourselves. "ST" and the Asian boy did'nt go to school Thursday or Friday, so i don't know what is going to happen about this incident.

This evening after "?" had left, "ST" went to his room to play his X-Box games and i watched TV then came online for a short while.

I am going to close down now as i want to watch Pitch Black on TV. So, have a great weekend and Best Wishes to one and all...

Recycling Wool...

Recycling wool...this i have done many times in the past with hand-knitted garments. I un-ravel them, then make them into skeins tie both ends so they hold together and put them in a washing bag or pillowcase then wash to straighten the wool, when dry wind it up loosely into balls and any frayed or worn bits cut off. The wool is ready for use.

When i had several odd un-used balls of wool left over. Using my kitchen scales i weighed different colours of wool and made a couple of cardigans for my kids when they were young, with which ever colours were suitable for either of them. I still have un-used balls of wool left over from years ago. Maybe, i will get round to using them now that i've got the urge to knit again.

I think i will make some crochet cushion covers next as i am in need of new ones and buy some new cushion pads too! I've got a couple of patterns that i've never used before.

I think it is better to hand-knit garments or crochet, because over the years of not knitting or crochet, i've bought my knitted cardis and jumpers and found that they fall apart and go out of shape quickly, when i made them they lasted for years.

Recycling wool costs nothing, just the time it takes to un-ravel the wool and washing it. And at the end of your time and effort of re-knitting or crochet you've got another garment to show for it and its a great feeling to know that you've made something and to have not wasted any of the wool. And any left over odd-balls of wool can be used for colour knitting or crochet or made into blankets/throws.

Both of these blankets/throws below are made from un-raveled cardis or left over odd balls of wool. My grandchildren get these out when they have their picnic in the lounge of a Saturday evening which i've mentioned before.

This is the back of the cardi i am knitting at the moment, i don't know if you can see the pattern on it, its in a cable stitch...

I hav'nt heard from my son since last Tuesday or from my daughter for a week. "?" and i will be picking "ST" up tomorrow for the weekend. I hav'nt seen aunt "D" for a few weeks, i will let her know that i will be over next weekend. I spoke to her on the phone and she is ok as far as i know.
